SMIC health care and community services department offers a range of qualifications under the current scope of study. They are:

  • CHC33021 : Certificate III in Individual Support – CRICOS 111833B
  • CHC43015 : Certificate IV in Ageing Support – CRICOS 111831D
  • CHC52021 : Diploma of Community Services – CRICOS 111835M

The Certificate III in Individual Support equips students with essential skills to provide personal care in aged care, disability, and home support settings. It’s ideal for those starting a career in the care sector, with roles such as aged care worker or disability support worker.

The Certificate IV in Ageing Support builds on these skills, preparing students for supervisory roles in aged care. It focuses on advanced care practices, leadership, and service coordination, offering career progression into team leader or program coordinator positions.

The Diploma of Community Services prepares students for more complex roles in case management and community development. Graduates can work in welfare, youth, or family support roles, with pathways to higher education and long-term careers in social services.

At present, this particular industry and subsequent training qualifications bear the highest propensity to employment here in Australia and elsewhere.
